Meetings The Shutterbugs meet the fourth Monday of the month at the Lycoming County Historical Society 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 at 7:00 P.M. (When that date conflicts with a holiday, the meeting is usually rescheduled for the third Monday.) The meetings are open to the public. Annual dues are $24 per individual, $12 per student and $36 per couple. All dues are pro rated for new members. The normal 2-hour meetings are divided into two parts. During the first hour, club business, a monthly photo theme contest and refreshments are held. The second half consists of an educational program, which can range from an instructional video, featured guest speaker or a field trip to a local site of interest. Recent meetings included an outdoor evening photo shoot on West Fourth Street, a Sunday afternoon at Knoebels Grove, and an evening critique of the images in our most recent exhibition. So, whether you are 16 or 60, shoot with a 35mm, 4x5 or digital, come join us! There is something of interest for everyone. Annual Photographic Displays In addition to monthly meetings, the Shutterbugs conduct two yearly photo shows, which are held at the Thomas Taber Museum. The Shutterbugs Annual Members Show is open to members only. Ribbon awards are issued based upon the results of popular choice voting held the evening of the show’s opening. All entries are displayed. The Annual Juried Show is open to non-members as well as members and is a juried competition. Cash prizes of $1500 make it the largest prize money awarded for and arts show in the area. Usually the number of entries for this show far exceed the wall space available, so simply being selected to be in the show is an honor. Both shows have a grand opening featuring a wine & cheese reception with proceeds benefiting the Lycoming County Historical Society.
