Next Meeting - Pick Wayne's Brain

March 26, 2007 - 7 PM 

Our next meeting will feature our local Photoshop Guru.  Having trouble with Photoshop?  Write down your questions and bring them to the meeting.  You can also bring along an example on a cd or a flash drive, because the title of this month's program is "Pick Wayne's Brain."

Wayne has been working with Photoshop since version 3 came out in 1994.  He has been a technical editor for 6 different Photoshop and digital imaging books and co-authored Photoshop Restoration and Retouching, 3rd Edition.  He has worked with such industry notables as Katrin Eismann, Julieanne Kost, Jerry Courvoisier,Bert Monroy, Mike Ninness, Sean Duggan, Barry Haynes, Taz Tally and Helen Yancy.  

March will also mark the 14th anniversary of the Shutterbugs.

Election and installation of new officers will take place.

Minutes of the Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs February 26, 2007

        President Kevin Stroble brought the meeting to order with approximately 10 people present. The minutes of the last meeting were read.

          Show Committee: Members Show-All but 2 members picked up their pieces. Deryl will hold Bruce’s and Dave will be in for his.

                            Juried Show- May 4^th is the show opening.

Prize money: In the past we have paid out the following: 1^st-$500, 2^nd-$250, 3^rd-$125, Honorable Mention-$75 and 3 Judge’s Awards of $50 each. This equates to well over $1100 needed.

Fundraising: Program patron sales by individuals in increments of $20 with name listed in the program; Program business patrons with advertisement in the program in increments of ¼ pages with full page @ $100, ½ page @ $50 and ¼ page @ $25. Deadline for fundraising is April’s meeting 4/23/07. All may solicit local businesses except B&S Framing and Hoyer’s who pay for Sun Gazette ads for the show.

Show entry fee is $12 for non members and $8 for members.

Judges- Still looking as Walter Colley is unavailable.

Call to entries-will be finalized at the next show committee meeting. They will be mailed and put on the website.

Dates: Saturday April 21 from 1:00 – 4:00 1^st drop of pieces; April 23^rd (meeting Night) final nite to accept pieces from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Other arrangements may be made with Ralph Wilson but not to occur after 4/23/07. April 23 will be the final nite for individual patron and business ads monies. The judging will occur on April 29^th   from 1-?. April 30 we will hang the show and mail out post cards telling all if in or out of the show. May 2^nd the programs will be run and name tags posted and final set up of the room. Thursday May 3^rd  5:30- 7:00 pm pickup rejected pieces.

          Next Show Committee Meeting March 5th at the United Disabilities Services Office 460 Market St. Suite 232 (Elizabeth Seeber’s office)

          Old Business: Nominating committee presented the following slate of officers: President- Kevin Stroble, VP- Elizabeth Seeber, Sec.- Deryl L. Maruschak, and Treas.- Wayne Palmer. Nominations will be accepted at the next meeting after which the elections will occur.

          Program Committee: Tonights program is a film on Ansel Adams. Next month’s will be “Pick Wayne’s brain about Photoshop”. April’s program will be a  hands on about your lenses i.e. finding out the best f stop for clarity etc. Bring your lenses to have them calibrated.  

Next Meeting will be 3/26/07 with Wayne providing the 14^th year Club Birthday Cake.
